Emphasis on Doctor-Patient Relationship – University of South Alabama College of Medicine
Located in Durham, North Carolina, Duke University is a premier private research college. Duke University’s undergraduate and graduate programs are highly regarded. Duke is also especially well known for its research, especially in natural sciences and health. The university is divided into nine schools, in which the undergraduates would enroll in either Pratt School of Engineering or the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences.
Courses Offered
The students interested in MD programs are registered in the traditional 4-year curriculum. The course is divided in to four years as follows:
• Year 1 – Basic knowledge about introductory basic sciences.
• Year 2 – Concept building in advanced basic sciences.
• Year 3 – Clinical specialties.
• Year 4 – A special 9 months program.
Apart from MD, the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program is also offered by the institute. Dual degree programs in BS-MD and MD-PhD are also available in the list of courses offered. Also, one can join graduate programs in various biomedical sciences like anatomy, microbiology, biochemistry and others.
Soon after, Trinity College had developed into one of the leading liberal arts colleges in the southern United States. When 1924 came around, Duke University was born out of the establishment of the Duke Endowment, which was a $40 million dollar trust fund. The university grew quickly and within the next 20 years it had such additions as the Medical School and hospital, the Religion and Graduate School, the School of Nursing, School of Forestry and the Law School.
Student Life
The students at the University Of South Alabama College Of Medicine are known to share a good association with one another. Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship and Summer Research Program are some of the highlights of the facilities offered to the students. The student to faculty ratio of 1:1 is another good aspect of the features associated with the college.
Many of the players of Duke have gone on to become popular players of the National Basketball Association and make millions of dollars on top of that. In recent years, the women’s golf team has also become dominant, winning three championships
